Welcome to Kat & Jo's wedding pages...

The wedding on Thursday, May 19th was as beautiful as we could imagine - a giant and loving thank you to all who attended! To Mom & Dad, we appreciate your gift more than you can know. And, to the committed and awesome wedding party - you filled in all of the special gaps to make this the wedding of both of our dreams...we so very much appreciate all that you did to make it beautiful & meaningful.

We had been leery that there would be weather/accessibility issues due to snow vs. warm weather...they had closed the entrances to the Park on Monday 5/16 due to flooding, and were unsure at that time as to exactly when they would reopen. Fortunately, the gates reopened on the 17th, and all went well. There were waterfalls where no waterfalls fall - it was stunning!

We were happy, the weather & temperatures were perfect, the ceremony was touching & amusing, the reception beautiful and enjoyed by all; especially moving were the toasts, and taking center stage was Shane's speech to us (as his mother & father)...not a dry eye nor a set of hands not clapping...he was so eloquent, and it really was a highlight.

The evening would not have been complete without the late-night meadow ramble undertaken by the wedding party in full evening garb: it was classic...including an employee-driven meadow/boardwalk drum circle (rectangle, truth be told) through which we were escorted as honored guests!

As the water was so very high, it made for a wet weekend...but none of us seemed to mind much. On Friday afternoon, an 18-person party (19, counting little Lena) did the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls. 'Mist Trail' is a misnomer - it should have been renamed the 'Soak Trail'...Bridalveil Fall was so thunderous that you couldn't actually see anything when you got to the viewing platform, and when viewed from Tunnel View (aka the newer Inspiration Point), the mist from it shot a hundred or more feet into the air!

The funny part is that we came to Yosemite a year ago to get a feel for what it would be like this year; how clueless we were to how different the conditions would be! Last year we had toyed with having the ceremony at Bridalveil, and had decided against since the water would be just a little too loud - we would have to be miked while guests would have to have had earpieces; this year it was so loud that we had to shout to hear each other, not to mention that one would get soaked just trying to reach the possible site!

We will be adding links to uploaded pictures, including instructions for being able to add your own pics. We realize that we didn't create a 'Wedding Pictures' part to this site; not to worry - go here to see what we've got so far.

To those who couldn't make it - you were missed; we were sad that you couldn't attend, but realize (firsthand!) what an undertaking a destination wedding is...no worries. We would like to see you soon, however - you were invited 'cause we care for you, and are wanting to stay in touch with all.

Thanks again to everyone - it was so wonderful; at the end of the day (and weekend), there was very little we would have changed (except for maybe some mosquito repellent during the ceremony!).
